Senior Lecturer
Dr Blessing Marandure is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at De Montfort University, Leicester. She is also a Fair Outcomes Champion on De Montfort University’s Decolonising DMU project. She attained both her BSc Psychology and PhD Psychology from the University of Birmingham. Her thesis explored cannabis use, mental health, and resilience in adolescents. She is a member of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network and sits on the network’s EDI Advisory Group. She is also a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council peer review college. Her current research interests are in synthetic cannabinoids, particularly around addiction experiences and young people’s risk perception. Dr Marandure is also interested in understanding substance use and mental health in non-western contexts and currently collaborates with academic colleagues and NGO partners in Zimbabwe. She is also interested in utilising multidisciplinary and applied research approaches in future projects.
