Peer Naloxone Supply Project lead
Wez leads the Peer Naloxone Supply Project funded by the Drug Deaths Task Force, building on Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF)’s previous work in this area to broaden and embed this across Scotland. Wez delivers training, refresher days and reflective sessions with peer groups supporting events and outreach to raise awareness. He chairs two national networks: one for peers directly involved in naloxone supply and one for those coordinating peer supply projects.
Previously, Wez worked as a Peer Navigator on the NIHR-funded SHARPS study. Wez has personal experience of problem substance use and homelessness and is a keen harm reduction advocate. He hopes to raise the profile of living and lived experience voices within policy and practice settings. Wez has an NVQ/SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care and was instrumental in initiating a psychosocial group for people who use drugs within homelessness and wellbeing centre settings.
