Biography

Aoife O’Kane is a research assistant with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland within the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Science. Having graduated with an MSc in Immunology and Global Health in 2020, she has a particular interest in clinical laboratory science and public health. As part of a broader project analysing the misuse of prescription drugs in Ireland, Aoife is focused on the patterns of use of prescribed and illicit drugs, identified through Early Warning Systems. Utilising toxicology data from national toxicology laboratories, the project aims to offer insight into trends in prescription drug use in Ireland.
