Biography

Beata Ciesluk is a student at the University of the West of Scotland and recently finished an MSc Addiction Psychology course. She holds an Honors Degree in Psychology from the University of the West of Scotland. Her research mainly focuses on medical cannabis use in the UK, individual differences between recreational and medical cannabis users, and the effects of cannabis in relation to emotion processing disorders such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She has worked closely with her supervisor Dr. Lucy Troup and collaborated with Imperial College London on several publications in relation to medical cannabis use in the UK. She and her team were recently invited to present their work at the International Cannabinoid Research Society Conference in Ireland in 2022. Beata Ciesluk is aiming to begin her Ph.D. with the University of the West of Scotland in 2023, to further develop her research in cannabis and addiction.
