Biography

Caral Brown (Stevenson) is an early career fellow at Oxford Brookes University within the department of Psychology, Social Work and Public Health. Caral has worked on several research projects that have considered homelessness and addiction, for example the role of emergency hostels for homeless drug users; the use of computer assisted therapy in hostels and social networks and relationships in hostels and nightshelters. Caral has also completed research on a drug education programme in schools and on the social context of cannabis use.

Caral is particularly interested in the roles of social and recovery capital for drug users with a specific focus on their relationships. Caral plans to continue working along this line of research for the foreseeable future.
