Dr Ved Baruah

Biography

Dr Ved Baruah is a social historian who specialises in the history of drugs and addiction and its relationship with international policy and public health in the modern era. He is based at the Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and is currently working on a Wellcome Trust funded project titled ‘The Asian Cocaine Crisis: Pharmaceuticals, consumers and control in South and East Asia, c. 1900-1945’.
