Biography

Lily Davidson is a final-year PhD candidate in the Lives Lived Well research team at the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia), under the supervision of Professor Leanne Hides. Lily’s interests are in innovative clinical trials for early prevention/intervention of common health problems (e.g. substance use, mental illness). Lily currently holds three scholarships for her research into youth mental health and substance use interventions and has gained clinical research experience through several years of employment at the University of Queensland and clinical organisations like Headspace (Australia’s National Foundation for Youth Mental Health). During her PhD, Lily developed and implemented a novel, 2-stage social network intervention in residential colleges, that aimed to reduce high risk substance use and related harm by utilising social influence effects advantageously. Post PhD, Lily hopes to continue her health psychology research in early prevention/intervention with adolescents and emerging adults.
