Dr Maureen Twiddy

Senior Lecturer

Dr Maureen Twiddy is a Senior Lecturer in Mixed Methods at the Institute of Clinical and Applied Health Research at the University of Hull. For the past 15 years she has collaborated on a range of multi-centre clinical trials and observational studies aimed at understanding patient and staff experiences of healthcare services and interventions. She has led process evaluations within these trials to improve trial recruitment. She is also interested in how care pathways work to deliver benefits for patients (or don’t), and how care pathways can be supported to support quality care. Maureen is currently collaborating with Professor Tom Phillips, Professor of Addictions at Hull to understand care pathways for people with alcohol addiction.  In addition to her academic role, Maureen was until recently an NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Panel member. She regularly reviews for a range of NIHR programmes and other funders.
