At the present, I am PhD student recipient of the BBSRC Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership (MIBTP) scholarship. As part of my Doctorate I aim to further my expertise in the use of more neuroimaging techniques by collaborating within several prestigious partnered institutions. I am interested establishing therapeutic protocols for the treatment of addiction via the use of non-invasive brain stimulation devices.



As part of my MSc thesis in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience at Roehampton University, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Paul Faulkner. Under his supervision we investigated the neural mechanisms underlying emotional difficulties in tobacco use disorder using resting-state and functional MRI. As part of the study objectives, we aimed to alleviate withdrawal-induced negative affect by rendering smokers better at regulating their emotions via the use of a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique: transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). These findings will be submitted for publication by the end of next year to the Addiction biology journal.
