Miss Alice Jones

Biography

I graduated from Bangor University in July 2016 with a First Class BA (Honours) Degree in Health & Social Care and the overall highest score across the cohort of programmes in Social Sciences, for which I was subsequently nominated for the Dr John Robert Jones Award for 2016. I am currently a postgraduate research student for a Masters by Research KESS 2 scholarship at Bangor University, looking at whether areas of divergence exist between policy aims and service outcomes for adults on methadone prescription programmes in North Wales. I am interested in addiction recovery and dual-diagnosis, in particular barriers and facilitators such as support accessibility, stigma & labeling and service delivery. Another area of interest is iatrogenic addiction, where an individual develops an addiction to prescription medication through medical compliance. I intend to progress to PhD in a relevant field or employment within service delivery management or for support within addiction/mental health services.
