Alcohol Nurse Specialist

Biography

I am currently working at Northwick Park Hospital (LNWUH) for the Liaison Psychiatry Team (CNWL).

My role as alcohol and drug nurse specialist has been developed on the acute admissions wards and the specialist liver teams.

We developed an alcohol care bundle using validated tools (CIWA, AUDIT-C) which improved the quality of care for people with alcohol dependence. This project was recognised by NICE and included in their shared practice.

Previously, I have been involved in developing alcohol care team services at St Mary’s, Paddington and St George’s, Tooting.

I was involved at the origins of UK Alcohol Care Team networks, and remain committed to working with colleagues at other hospitals and organisations to share learning.
