Dr Roberta Agabio

Roberta Agabio is an Assistant Professor in Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Cagliari, Italy. Graduated in Medicine, she specialised in both Clinical Pharmacology and Psychiatry, and devoted the early years of her research to the neurobiology and identification of new medications for the treatment of alcohol use disorder, using animal models of this disorder. Following preclinical activity, Dr Agabio started to collaborate with clinical research centres in the field of alcohol use disorder and focused her clinical research mainly on gender differences and pharmacological treatment of alcohol use disorder. Recently, she has adopted a meta-analytic approach to investigate these topics. Dr. Agabio has promoted courses in the field of alcohol use disorder. She is a member of scientific societies in the alcohol field, acts as reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals. She has authored several book chapters and articles and organized events aimed at raising awareness of alcohol use disorder.
