Club Soda - Behaviour change and social action

First published: 09 May 2019 | Last updated: 22 July 2020

Club Soda is a behaviour change platform for anyone who wants to change their drinking, whether to cut down, stop for a bit, quit or stick. It offers online behaviour change tools such as goal setting and progress tracking, information, community support, links to experts and perks, as well as workshops and events both online and in the real world. October saw our first online support course for people taking a month off booze.(Join us https://joinclubsoda.com/ ).

We have also recently completed a pilot project (with Alcohol Concern) funded by Hackney council, working with pubs and bars. We consider behaviour change by venues to be equally important to behaviour change by individuals. This project therefore tried to find ways of making venues more welcoming for their non-drinking customers, using co-design principles and engaging both the venues and their customers.

In this talk, we will talk about how Club Soda works, what we’ve learned from our members, and share some of the findings from our pubs and bars project.
