Research Director, Team Leader Psychobiology of Drug Addiction

Véronique Deroche-Gamonet is research director at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and leader of the team Psychobiology of drug addiction at the Neurocentre Magendie in Bordeaux, France. She has been conducting experimental research on drug addiction since the early 90s. She always challenged the classical experimental preparations used to model drug addiction, including her own preparations. This has resulted in a major innovation, i.e. the first multi-symptomatic DSM-based model of addiction in the rat, which has strongly influenced preclinical research in the addiction field and beyond.
