Miss Catherine-Anne Field

My work and research interest to date has focused on the areas of drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and primary care. I am currently completing a PhD in health services research examining the management of problem alcohol use among patients receiving opiate substitution therapy in primary care at University College Dublin (UCD). The PhD is part of a Health Research Board funded project, and my findings have been used to develop clinical guidelines for the management of problem alcohol use among drug users in primary care. I was recently co-reviewer and co-author on a Cochrane Systematic Review – “Psychosocial interventions for problem alcohol use among drug users”. Prior to this I worked for six years in the area of community based addiction care in both Ireland and the United Kingdom, in a clinical and research / education remit.
