Complementing our main conference, the SSA PhD Symposium is a closed event just for PhD students (and those about to begin) and 2021 was its thirteenth year. It brings together PhD students studying addiction-related topics so they can network, present their work in a low-key, supportive environment and share their experiences. Students from over 40 different universities around the UK, Europe and as far as New Zealand attended, working in departments including psychology, psychiatry, pharmaceutical science, neuroscience, nursing, behavioural science and public health and social care, and the programme was built around their presentations of their own work.
