The SSA’s PhD Symposium is a free event for PhD students and people who are close to finishing or have recently submitted their thesis. Attendees have the opportunity to present their research and network. Now in its fifteenth year, our PhD Symposium brings together PhD students studying addiction-related topics so they can network, present their work in a low-key, supportive environment, and share their experiences – positive and negative. We welcome full and part-time students, studying in a range of disciplines including social sciences, laboratory sciences, and health services research. The day includes presentations from students at all stages of their PhD, as well as people who have recently submitted their thesis.
The 2022 symposium featured talks on service use and recovery, and the cognitive impacts of cannabis and alcohol, as well as a workshop on impact, inclusivity, and involvement in addictions research.
